About FAA Southwest

The Southwest Region is anchored by the DFW Metroplex and Houston, two of the largest airline hubs in the world, and extends across the energy corridor of Louisiana and Oklahoma to the high desert of New Mexico. The FAA assigns each airport in the United States to one of nine administrative regions; this region's office at Fort Worth, TX handles airport certification, safety inspections, federal-grant coordination, and overall coordination with the air-traffic-control facilities physically inside its territory.
